Muslim Community Growth in Auckland CBD

The need for this project emanated from a base line observation from Al Hikmah Board of Trustee, about the increasing number of Muslim students, workers, residents and tourists in the vicinity of Auckland CBD.

Expanding Auckland City Islamic Centre for Increased Capacity

Considering the time limitations that office workers and students are having, it is observed that a larger masjid that is within easy reach is required. Auckland City Islamic Centre will have the capacity to host 50 people at permanent prayers area, and 400-500 people at the peak capacity when all spaces are utilised as prayer hall.

Flexible Space Use at Auckland City Islamic Centre

During off peak periods, the space available can be used as sports facility, event / function venue, or business facility. Fixtures and furnitures will be designed for maximum flexibility to allow for reconfiguration of space.

Our mission is to cultivate a thriving Muslim community in Auckland CBD through a dedicated masjid for daily salaat and Jumma prayers, supportive new Muslim programmes, and youth education to connect them with their Deen.
